Good Wood, Sweet Spot Trainer The GOOD WOOD SWING TRAINER is a precision balanced hitting aid designed to teach the batter to take the barrel to the ball. Like all CLAPBAT training aids, the GOOD WOOD provides immediate feedback. If the batter succeeds in taking the barrel to the ball, the batter will feel a pleasant soft response from the bat similar to his game bat. If the batter fails to take the barrel to the ball, he will likely miss due to the small barrel and thin extended handle. If the batter fails to take the barrel to the ball, but succeeds in making contact, he will receive feedback in a uncomfortable slightly stinging manner. This positive/ negative feedback mechanism conditions the hitter to manage the strike zone and not swing at pitches that they are un-capable of getting the barrel to. The GOOD WOOD is composed of a thin extended 15/16" handle and a small compact barrel. It is made from a special extra dense maple which allows it to imitate the weight and balance of a traditional bat while drastically reducing the barrel length. It is available in 30, 32 and 34 inch models.
