Guide to Cycle Clothing Sizes There are a couple of things to bear in mind when buying cycle clothing. First of all, for maximum effectiveness, cycle clothes are generally designed to sit tightly and fit best when you are seated on a bike not necessarily standing upright. Cycle jerseys should only go down to hip level and have a ‘cycling cut’ allowing for a rise up at the back when you are leaning forward on a bike. They should not sit as loose as a T-shirt. Cycle shorts must fit tightly for maximum muscle support and on bibs the braces should feel slightly short when standing but will loosen slightly when actually seated on the bike. The following size charts are intended to be used as a guideline in choosing the right size clothing. Please keep in mind that European cycle clothes are designed for a tighter "cycling fit". In general you should consider going up one size if you would like a looser, more casual fit.
