Cypress was a great choice for a handle because it is a light, very durable wood, and it resisted the insects and decay in the humid conditions of the Big Easy extremely well. Hurricane Katrina forced us out of the Crescent City and up to the Southern Great Plains of Oklahoma where we have switched production to the locally available hardwoods, ash and maple.
